Who sucks at updates?

Played through Dead Rising 2. Good game, bosses were crappy but that’s to be expected. Combo weapons are an awesome addition and survivors seem to be much smarter and resilient than before. Killing mass zombies is fun as always. Doing a 2nd playthrough that I’m streaming @ http://www.livestream.com/vertigoteaparty

I really need to finish up the Bioshock 2 Let’s Play. It’s been like… 6 months. Might start just working on like 30 minutes/day.

My life is full of excitement and adventure.

Tragedy in the garden

HORROR! One of my trays of plants (or dirt/plantlings to be more accurate) got blown on the ground the other day due to high winds. I think I was able to salvage most of it but we’ll see.

In other news, I’m still trying to figure out codecs and how to encode my Bioshock 2 videos. The problem is either the quality is poor or they don’t stream properly to the PS3/X-Box. I just cannot seem to find a good combination of codec, bitrate, format, extension, etc. Yes, this is as boring as it sounds.

New case

Finally got a new case and CPU fan like I’d been planning. Glad to say that my computer’s innards not a sloppy, corded nightmare. I’ve still got to fix the right side cords but I’ll get to that.

As a result of new CPU fan and better air flow, temperatures are definitely lower. CPU used to run around 55C idle. Now it’s around 29-30. GPU is still hotter than I’d like at around 85C idle, but not really much I can do about that. The fan ramps up in games and keeps it at around the same temperature but gets pretty damn loud.

I dig the case overall. It’s large and easy to work with but not as stupid heavy as the old one was. One thing I’m not crazy about is no filters where the fans are. Other than that, sweet case and easy to work with.
